Remember how a tomato used to taste years ago? Trying to recapture that elusive taste today is almost best done with your imagination! With tons of chemicals dumped on food plants and "specialty" breeding, breeding plants to withstand long periods crammed into a truck rather than to taste good, it's a wonder any vegetables have any taste at all. And never mind what pesticide residue can do to you...or to the ground water it seeps into...or to the workers who apply it! There are a million reasons to grow your own food. You know where it's been. You know what's been used to produce it. You're eating low on the food chain and using minimal resources for food production. Best of all is the time spent in the garden and the satisfaction of actually growing something. Working a garden is zenlike. Watching it grow, helping it along, nurturing is akin to the satisfaction of raising a child to maturity in a single season. And of course there's all those luscious tastes. The best way to start your garden is with Organic seeds. You know they're safe...and the highest-quality gardens start with the highest-quality seeds!

Heirloom Varieties

Another problem with modern agriculture is the frightening loss of seed/plant diversity worldwide. For every animal species that becomes extinct, and usually not without some fanfare, hundreds of plant species disappear! They are simply bred out of existence as "Big Agriculture" plants for profit ONLY. If a tomato variety can be bred to stay firm on a store shelf for an extra week, that will be the variety grown. THAT is why vegetables don't taste as you remember!! Fortunately, some organic farmers still "save seeds" and produce "heirloom varieties", varieties that have been the same for years, many of which are becoming scarce, and that DO taste as you remember. Try planting some of these...and be sure to save some seeds for next year!

Seeds below are limited in availability.  Orders MUST be placed by Friday, April 27th.
